Representing the new generation of Emergency Medicine specialists, Dr. Shiju Stanley brings focused expertise in the comprehensive management of medical and surgical emergencies, playing a key role in delivering timely, protocol-driven, and life-saving interventions.

Under his leadership, the department provides round-the-clock emergency services with a strong emphasis on acute trauma care, disaster management, toxicology, procedural analgesia, and point-of-care sonography in the emergency room for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Dr. Shiju Stanley is an ATLS provider and an AHA-accredited Instructor for BLS, ACLS, and PALS, ensuring that emergency care at Ananthapuri follows globally accepted standards. Supported by trained emergency physicians, nurses, and critical care teams, the department functions as a vital frontline service delivering rapid, coordinated, and high-quality emergency care 24×7.

Recognized as a National Board Accredited Centre for the DNB Emergency Medicine Course (since 2012), the department plays a vital role in both patient care and academic excellence. Our specialists perform a wide range of life-saving procedures, including intubation, chest tube insertion, cricothyroidotomy, central line cannulation, thrombolysis, transvenous pacing, and POP cast applications, all within the emergency setting.

With 24x7 multidisciplinary support from departments such as Neurosurgery, Cardiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Radiology, and Laboratory Services, the Emergency Medicine team ensures seamless coordination for rapid diagnosis and intervention—where every second counts.
